Skiers are made in summer, not bom in winter.

Or, to put it another way: Those who are seized with a desire to try skiing, or skiers who want to improve their skills on the snowy slopes, should take advantage of the wide range of summer activities that will not only enhance their physical condition but also improve their dynamic motion skills. Both are involved in skiing. And both apply equally to men and women, and without regard to age.

But, before discussing these two elements of off-the-slope action, let me emphasize this:

The majority of skiers, from eight-year-olds to octogenarians, are reasonably healthy. They’re reasonably active. They’re reasonably physically fit. And they thoroughly enjoy skiing at their own level and pace without being muscle monomaniacs or dying to ski because it’s such a wild and dangerous sport.
